The “Lazy Runner” Treadmill Workout

This morning called for a quick breakfast and an early wake-up call before taking Lily to the vet for her surgery.

As soon as I woke up, I darted to the kitchen and made a quick Fitmixer shake and sliced up a few strawberries to enjoy on the side.

Before I knew it, we were out the door and on the way to the veterinarians office.

Lily has her surgery to be spayed today, so we scheduled an early drop-off and we will be picking her up sometime tomorrow morning.

ย Clearly, Lily was really relaxed during her time in the waiting room..

Juuuuuust kidding. You know better than to believe that by now, I’m sure. The vet makes Lily extra squirmy, and I’m pretty sure that she’s one of the only dogs in the entire world that actually getsย excited to go to the vet. Her reaction upon seeing her doctor is similar to the reaction she gets when we pull up to the dog park..

Now that I think about it, it’s really a miracle that she hasn’t peed on him yet.

The doctor explained to us the risks of anesthesia, which is probably something that a hypochondriac like me shouldn’t be told, so I was a little antsy when we finally handed her over, but Andy quickly reassured me that everything would be fine.

Now we’re sitting here thinking about what we’re going to do without our little bug for the next day. I am clearly not used to this thing people call “free time”. Any ideas for something fun we can do with our new-found time off tonight?

Fitmixer Update

So far, Fitmixer Boot Camp has been everything I hoped it would be and more! I am SO SORE. I guess that’s what happens when you pretend that running is the only form of exercise and ignore all strength training for three months or so. Oops.

After each day’s boot camp workout, you are given the option to do 30 additional minutes of high-intensity cardio, which I normally would always add-on, but I have been so sore lately, that running at any speed over 7 mph has been out of the question.

Last night, I created this workout to complete after today’s workout, in hopes that the slower speeds will give me no excuse to skip the cardio. Hopefully you guys will find it useful as well!

Let me know what you guys think! Sometimes a slower, easier workout than I’m used to is just what I need ๐Ÿ™‚

Tell Me: If you are doing Fitmixer Boot Camp with me, how do you like it so far?ย If you’re not participating in boot camp, what are you workout plans for the day?!

  1. Hmmm this is interesting. I tried intervals last night but it didn’t do the trick. I was happier running the same speed. Maybe I was just doing them too fast though…

  2. Interesting treadmill workout! I am not a treadmill runner but I think I could still try this outside? I am trying to ease back into running after my marathon Sunday so a “lazy” workout is just what I need ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Looks like a great TM run. I have been really liking the TM lately since I live alone and don’t want to run alone when it’s dark out. I miss being downtown where people are always out.

Someday I want to do that bootcamp. It just wasn’t in my budget this go-around. I’m going to do a 40-50min run on the TM and do a leg workout at the gym. Can’t wait to get out of work so I can get to it ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I so want to try that workout for days when I want to run but have to stay inside on the dreadmill. I know how much I worried when I took my dog to get neutered, but he was fine. hopefully dear Lily is alright!
