An Uncomfortable Workout & Big Weekend Plans

My morning workout started out the the most uncomfortable way possible, when I brought one old Newton shoe and one new Newton shoe to the gym for my run this morning.

Getting Out of a Running Rut Treadmill Workout & How I Finally Wore Lily Out

This morning started in the most annoying way possible… I had to give a speech. I know that I might be the whiniest person on earth right now, but I HATE giving speeches. I get up there behind the podium, my knees start to buckle, my cheeks get red and I start twirling my hair and talking like an auctioneer.

The “Lazy Runner” Treadmill Workout

This morning called for a quick breakfast and an early wake-up call before taking Lily to the vet for her surgery.

As soon as I woke up, I darted to the kitchen and made a quick Fitmixer shake and sliced up a few strawberries to enjoy on the side.

Treadmill Slump

Today started out a trek through the snow for an early trip to the gym!

It has been snowing nonstop, so I made sure to bundle up!!

Andy, Lily and I will be heading out on the road again around noon today, so I wanted to make sure to squeeze a quick workout in before we left!

We’re headed to Milwaukee, because my dad got me tickets to see the Milwaukee Bucks vs Miami Heat game tonight!! To say that I am a little bit excited would be the understatement of the century.

I wanted to get right into running on the treadmill, but I just wasn’t feeling it today. So I did what I usually do when I’m in a “treadmill slump”, I turned to one of my favorite walking workouts to crank out before I even attempted to run.

I chose one of my go-to walking workouts, Ashley’s Walk It Off Intermediate Treadmill Workout!

This workout can also be found in my Favorite Treadmill Workouts post. As usual, it got my blood pumping and thighs working, while waking me up in the process! Love it, thanks Ashley!

Once I got moving, I set off to complete another one of my favorite workouts, Julie’s Lazy Girl Workout. It just seemed fitting today 😉

It might say lazy girl, but don’t be fooled, it only starts slow. By the end of the workout, I was a sweaty mess! Thanks Julie!

Now it’s time for a shower before we’re off to Milwaukee!!

My half marathon training plan calls for a 6 mile long run, so I’m planning on completing the 3 remaining miles at the hotel gym today. I’ll be back with a holiday recap once we’re there!

“No More Treadmill Boredom” 5 Mile Interval Workout

Finals have been taking up all of my time in the past couple of days, and while I haven’t had the time to blog about my day (and you probably wouldn’t want to hear about me sitting around studying and snacking instead of eating real meals anyway), I did have the time to put together a little treadmill workout to accomplish at the gym tomorrow after my second final!

That being said.. here it is!

I find that frequently switching up the speeds and keeping the intervals short makes 5 miles fly by.

I’m off to make a little more coffee and get back at it! Let me know what you guys think of this workout and if you’d like to see more workouts like this! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated 🙂

Fit For the Holidays Interval Run

Before I get this new workout to you.. Today is a special day in our household! It’s Andy’s last day of school.. ever!

ImageThe big “soon to be college grad” wanted a PB&J english muffin for breakfast.. so a PB&J english muffin is exactly what he got.

I made myself a egg and jelly english muffin, with a perfectly juicy clementine on the side.. yum!

I’m ready for this day to be over and tonight to be here! We have visitors coming, so I have a big day of cleaning ahead of me..

Snooki and I are less than thrilled about cleaning. But it will all be worth it when it’s done because Ryan and Landon are on their way here tonight!

Ryan is Andy’s older brother, and Landon is Andy’s best friend, and whenever those three get together, I’m sure to be doing a little bit of babysitting..
